Over a series of propositions, this talk invites us “to follow the money,” using the phrase to tie movement with material form. Following the money traces the forms it takes and the ways it circulates. It treats money as both the prime object of everyday life and a means to pry open the workings of contemporary capitalism. Drawing on ethnography and critical theory, “to follow the money” approaches money as an object of practice, yet one that renders possible generative abstractions.

Born in Tunis, Myriam Amri holds a PhD in Anthropology and Middle East Studies from Harvard University. She completed undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Columbia University, Sciences Po Paris, and the London School of Economics.
