Myriam Amri, Follow the Money: Notes from Practice

  • Concordia University, Department of English 1455 Maisonneuve Blvd W, LB 681 Montreal, QC, H3G 1M8 (map)

Over a series of propositions, this talk invites us “to follow the money,” using the phrase to tie movement with material form. Following the money traces the forms it takes and the ways it circulates. It treats money as both the prime object of everyday life and a means to pry open the workings of contemporary capitalism. Drawing on ethnography and critical theory, “to follow the money” approaches money as an object of practice, yet one that renders possible generative abstractions.
